Van Damme Black Series Tour Grade Multicore Speaker Cable 4x2.5mm² offers a comprehensive conductor size and core count to accommodate almost all potential speaker signals. From 2 core 1.5mm through 8 core 4mm to 18 core 2.5mm the ultra pure copper conductors, cutting edge PVC compounds and dynamic use focused construction provide accurate signal transmission, toughness and flexibility.
Material
The cable conductor is made of ultra-pure oxygen-free copper. As with other Van Damme cables, ultra-pure oxygen-free copper increases conductivity and ease of soldering. A natural filler was used to prevent changes in the cable's capacity along its length and ensure noise-free operation. The cable sheath is made of abrasion-resistant PVC composite, ensuring adequate flexibility even at negative temperatures. As in most cables of this type, the insulation of the conductors is made of PVC and polyvinyl chloride. Many types of PVC material are used for insulation and provide average, good or excellent mechanical and electrical properties. There are relatively high direct current (DC) voltages in the loudspeaker signal, and a low dielectric constant is not a priority. The PVC polymer used by Van Damme maximizes flexibility, mechanical and thermal resistance, ensuring minimal insulation shrinkage during soldering, and a high level of flexibility even after many years of intensive use. The external insulation is a special composite of durable neoprene and PVC, which has a quality almost like rubber. This insulation is extruded under high pressure onto two internal conductors. The whole thing is a solid, extremely flexible speaker cable with excellent winding parameters.
